The goal was to install an ADA-compliant deck and hardscape stairs seamlessly integrated with the existing landscaping, offering functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Design Challenges
and Solutions

The primary challenge of this project was navigating the elevation changes within a relatively small space. Our team designed and installed a composite deck with hardscape stairs, incorporating ADA-compliant ramps and railings to ensure accessibility for all. Custom planters were also installed to address the elevation changes and provide safety and stability. These planters functioned as railings and retainer walls, serving a dual purpose by controlling erosion along the deck’s outside edge.

We installed ramps and railings that met all ADA standards, ensuring the space was accessible to all parents and visitors. The decking material used for this project was TimberTech Azek, known for its durability, slip resistance, and ability to maintain color over time. This composite material was an excellent choice for a space exposed to frequent use and weather conditions.
