Tranquil Outdoor Retreat in the DFW Metroplex
This project was designed for a community-focused business owner in the DFW Metroplex. The client envisioned a peaceful outdoor retreat for his employees, local business park community members, and nearby residents. He aimed to create a serene space where people could escape the daily hustle, reflect, and find peace in a natural environment. The outdoor area needed to provide functional and tranquil elements while seamlessly blending with the surrounding wooded landscape.
Design Vision
and Challenges
The biggest challenge of this project was working within the confines of a heavily wooded area filled with desirable trees that the client wanted to preserve. We approached this challenge by incorporating organic materials that blended with the natural surroundings, including boulders, stone, gravel, and wood. These materials helped maintain the area’s rustic charm while adding structure and functionality.
To create a peaceful and inviting environment, we designed a walking path that winds through the woods, offering employees and visitors a chance to stroll during lunch breaks or after work. The path leads to secured metal benches and picnic tables, where people can sit, reflect, or enjoy a meal in a quiet, natural setting.

Our process began by meeting with the client to understand his vision and needs for the space. He wanted a place where his employees, friends, and family could find tranquility and enjoy the natural surroundings. Throughout the project, we maintained open communication to ensure every element aligned with his vision of a peaceful retreat for the community.
Now complete, this serene outdoor space provides a much-needed escape for employees and residents alike. Whether walking along the winding paths, sitting at one of the picnic tables, or simply enjoying the natural beauty of the wooded area, visitors can find a sense of peace and reflection in this thoughtfully designed retreat.
